Online Learning
The Standardised Supervisor Training System (SSTS) Project provides foundational, evidence-based training in clinical supervision aligned with the Medical Supervisor Curriculum (MSC). Through 21 scenario-based microlearning modules, each around 10 minutes long, supervisors explore real-world challenges across rural, remote, and metropolitan settings. The training promotes best practices in feedback, reflection, goal-setting, and cultural safety, with built-in reflective questions to support contextualisation and application in diverse clinical environments.

Each scenario is grounded in evidence-informed design principles to ensure consistency, relevance, and meaningful application:

-
Consistent Structure: All scenarios follow a shared format, such as building trust, giving feedback, and fostering reflection to promote best practices in supervision.
-
Recurring Themes: Communication, professionalism, and feedback are recurring themes, reflecting universal challenges commonly experienced by clinical supervisors.
-
Contextual Variation: Scenarios represent a variety of settings—metropolitan, rural, and remote—and different learner types to ensure broad applicability.
-
Capability Focus: Each scenario aligns with a specific core capability. Even when similar themes arise, the learning remains focused and targeted to support the development of defined supervisory skills.
-
Strategic Diversity: A range of educational models and tools, such as the Gibbs Reflective Cycle, Pendleton Model, and SMART goals, are integrated across scenarios to demonstrate practical strategies for addressing learner needs.
